Bach vs Morricone

I know it sounds far fetched, but using a harmonica really gives Air on a G string a very Morricone feel. Massive Once Upon a Time in the West flashback coming up!

Captain Beefheart on Letterman

Two back to back interviews with Captain Beefheart. Letterman is so out of his element, but hey don't let that ruin it for you.

Here's a song from his more accessible album Bluejeans & Moonbeams.

Bergman + Fellini = ?

I recently found out that Bergman and Fellini wanted to make a film together. As far as I know it never came to be, but I think the thought alone is enough to make you dream. Here's a clip from a interview where Fellini gives a few clues as to what it will be about. Bergman just sits next to him and smiles. Might be a good time to learn Italian since there are no subtitles.

What is love?

I love how people in the 60's had existential problems, it generated a lot of arthouse films. Here's a short clip from Jean-Luc Godard's Alphaville. Probably the best bit, so you don't have to watch the whole thing.

La Serenissima - updated

The first time I saw this I was in awe. I guess YouTube isn't just an outlet for frustrated teens with webcams.

Do you think this is gasy?

I'll leave it up to you, but one thing is certain, I'm gonna start wearing a cape in the near future. And when I say near future, I mean some point between now and my untimely death. Until then...

A quick one while he's away

For all you weekend warriors out there, here's a song that you could play for your special lady friend. You know, your "Hello, I'm not sure you know but you're hot... wanna make out?" type of lady friend that you meet at the weekend. If she asks what the fuck is this, then just tell her it's a Cello! Cello! Cello!

The Roundabout

There was once this band, suggestively named Yes, comprised mostly of second class musicians such as Jon Anderson (vocals), Steve Howe (guitar), Chris Squire (bass), and spastic key masher Rick Wakeman. Together they made music and wore cool clothes (for their time).

Fire... Jeff Fire

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown was a psychedelic band from the 60's. Anything else is just superfluous.

And here's one to take home.
